lyrics

moonlight and candle, moonlite and you

moonlight and candle, the hows i write to you,
zen between, with message around,
over and under the sky,
the fluff of clouds i watch, and watch with dancing eyes
the world is what is.
and perception decides for you.
what is and what will be, again as days pass by.
i feel whole and i feel true.
we are, and the breeze accentuates.

nature is alive, in every direction.
the crickets and frogs sing.
in rhythmic tone, in my ear alone.
i sit at the valley's edge.
the wind wants me topless, and pulls at my tent.
and now i think of love... and the greatness of the day.

the music the people and the land, life is settling in.
there is a big sky here, mountains surround.
rocky and covered in green.
this is becoming home, and i'm alright.
though i was ready to leave, in the morning light.
but the day proved true to stay. and here i lie again.
happy and full, spiritually.

ready for this experience, and whatever comes our way.
we will see that tomorrow, is the next day.
and now i stretch and poem,
wrapped in sleeping bag, i soon to fall asleep,
moonlite and candle blown, the hows the write to you.

moonlight and candle, moonlite and you

about

Stephen Cogswell San Francisco, California

Stephen Cogswell is a remarkable singer and songwriter with a knack for creating island beats and breezy tunes that are not too unlike music by Xavier Rudd, Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, and even Darius Rucker. The vocals are strong, poetic, and earthy throughout. If a beach had a soundtrack: Floating would be the answer.
